Hex-Class Battlecruiser

Manufactured, used in battle space and sold by the Arnuban, the Hex-Class is popular among pirates, mercenaries and particularly species who are somewhat larger in size.
It is one of the few mass-produced large starships known, with each one being almost identical and all coming off huge assembly lines in parts, then lifted into orbit for final assembly. It costs a third of any other battlecruiser but there are no variants and it can be difficult to modify. Fortunately, that's not usually an issue for ships this size.
There is a lot of debate over whether it earns the title of battlecruiser. While it has the size of a battleship at more than 2,000 feet in length, it punches and is armored like a cruiser. However, it does have very spacious cargo holds and can carry fighters or a large contingent of troops, which most cruisers cannot. 
In truth, all Arnuban ships are deceptively large, because the species is about nine feet tall on average. 
For a while, until the Arnuban went to war with the Rhtharians, most people equated the Hex with piracy, since Arnuban captains, who legally own their ships, often resort to piracy during peace time. Until recently, no one had seen the ship fight as part of a fleet, and its surprising effectiveness has led to the Arnuban route of the Rhtharians' space forces.
