The Tower

We apparently weren't the first humans to find it, that massive metal sentinel, jutting from the bedrock of Yzmir-5's desert moon. It has stood there since before the dinosaurs, since before even, perhaps, the precambrian explosion. It has withstood incomprehensible spans of time that dwarf the human mind's ability to comprehend beyond nigh meaningless reference points to our own past. We have not even begun to be able to puzzle out its purpose: Habitat? Weapon? Marker? Tomb? Art? Nothing about the structure gives insight to the inner workings of the ancient architects. No tool marks. No furnishings or components, no odd inscrutible heiroglyphics. The only markings on the entire structure must have been left by other humans who found it years ago during the earliest expansion. For at it's summit, we found a familiar message scrawled in bold, tall letters. 
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings!
Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
