T.S.S. Midway in Low Orbit by ILJackson T.S.S. Midway in Low Orbit by ILJackson
The T.S.S. Midway is a Hastings-Class Battlecarrier. Designed to be a multi-purpose all-role commandship, the Hastings-Class vessels carry a wing of fighters, the firepower of a battleship and can transport an entire infantry company of colonial marines.
The most expensive warship in humanity's arsenal, the Midway is the only Hastings-class battlecarrier operational when the war breaks out, and she is still undergoing her shakedown cruise. The lead ship of the class, the T.S.S. Hastings, vanished the first time the FTL drive was activated and was never seen again.
Two sister ships, the Trafalgar and the Marathon, are under construction. All Hastings-Class Battlecarriers are named after famous battles.

Here, the Midway is being escorted by two Firestorm-Class escort frigates and a patrol flight of Crossbow fighters.

interesting, may want to add a bit more detail though, detail enhances the feeling of scale (look at the star destroyers on starwars)

You're referring to what they call "Greeble" among modellers...all the little pipes and dohickies and such that make the hull irregular. I tend to avoid that on warships unless it has a specific purpose. All of that stuff should be under armor. I think you can show scale with the occasional viewport, airlock or other, functional detail.

yeah true that
yeah greebles serve no purpose other than to show size and look cool, and would be impractical as vital components could get damaged if on the exterior of the hull

you should search for an artist on here called kheng, this guy has the most wonderfully detailed scenes that have this awe factor to them, you can literally spend hours staring at his work
