Another Shiva Dream GN Panel by ILJackson Another Shiva Dream GN Panel by ILJackson
Shiva's final mission with the Terra Protectorate involved a raid on a scientific outpost that had been taken over by a cult. The door led into the labs. What she saw behind that door will remain a mystery for some time in the graphic novel, but it still haunts her two years later, and she's eventually forced to confront her memories in the flesh.

For me, this is ideally what the book will look and feel like in this panel. My GF was concerned that maybe its too gritty, but she's not sure if it's her personal aesthetic preference. I'd like to avoid overdoing it.
Thoughts?

This looks dead on actually to me! The dark grit gives it a wonderful visual aesthetic and atmosphere. If you want, you may give a "hint" of light onto the front of the characters so that they can be captured more into the panel from the light source of the door.

You've the cyberpunk feel down, Looking at the series of panels your definitely got dirty and grainy down. I've been a fan of the genre since Mirrorshades.

I like the gritty, especially for a more cyberpunk feel. It should be gritty and dirty and hard. All three look good.

Well it is a gritty texture, but since the comic style postwork is going to tend to "simplify" colour, and depth of lighting, then different textures and grittiness are probably a good way to maintain variety.:)
